About this role
This Fleet Maintenance Supervisor position oversees a maintenance shop under a Maintenance Manager, directing technicians responsible for preventive maintenance/repair of the fleet and equipment supporting the post-collection and container shop operations. The supervisor plans/schedules repairs, supports complex diagnostics (including possible road tests), and ensures safety, compliance, and quality through inspections and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct A, B and C level and lead technicians for safe, efficient, timely repairs
- Plan and schedule repair work to reduce lost productivity
- Conduct Quality Control Inspections and inspect outside repairs
- Oversee repair diagnostics and road test vehicles when needed
- Oversee inventory control system, parts levels, and approve expenses within scope
Technical Overview
The role covers advanced maintenance knowledge and oversight across engine, emission systems, transmission, brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems. It includes quality control inspections, inspection of outside repairs, diagnostics on complex issues, and inventory control for maintaining necessary parts/equipment within budget.
