About this role
This fleet mechanic role ensures trucks, trailers, and yard tractors are in working order and compliant with federal (DOT) standards. The mechanic diagnoses and repairs heavy-duty vehicle components, performs preventive maintenance, and completes repair orders while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair truck and trailer components (electrical and air brake systems included)
- Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) and complete repair orders for tractor/trailer equipment
- Maintain safety and reliability on fleet vehicles, including class 8 trucks, trailers, and yard tractors
- Perform DOT inspections and ensure compliancy
- Safely operate gauges, forklifts, shunt truck, torches, grinders, and other tools in the yard/shop
