About this role
This role supports CarMax’s Frederick Production Center automotive inventory operations by maintaining the lot, receiving and shipping vehicles, scanning inventory for accurate status, and managing vehicle preparation tasks. The associate also performs vehicle cleaning (wash/vacuum) and runs the Photo Station process to take and upload photos to carmax.com while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute processes as defined by work instructions and/or standardized work
- Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement activities
- Ensure daily lot maintenance and security of the display areas and work-in-progress zones
- Secure and receive vehicles shipped to CarMax and prep vehicle and title packets for shipping to other locations
- Complete scanning of vehicles and perform Photo Station process including taking and uploading photos to carmax.com
Technical Overview
The work is operational rather than software/IT-focused, centered on inventory scanning, vehicle movement, and standardized photo/documentation workflows. Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an entry-level automotive inventory associate who can accurately scan and record vehicle status while maintaining daily lot maintenance and security. They have a current driver's license, strong attention to detail for data transcription, and can follow standardized work, safety (OSHA/EPA/PPE), and CarMax 5S cleanliness standards in a fast-paced environment.
