About this role
Acuren is hiring full-time PLI Techs for pipeline integrity work supporting examination, analysis, and reporting of pipeline inspection data. The role is primarily field-based with significant travel and includes database/FTP updates and report generation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform direct assessment of as-found pipe condition including coating assessment, soils and topography, and cathodic protection
- Perform direct examination for cracks, corrosion, deformation, and manufacturing anomalies
- Correlate as-found pipe features to Inline Inspection (ILI) log
- Conduct fit-for-service evaluations as per ASME B31.3 and RSTRENG
- Compose and write pipeline integrity inspection reports and assist with reporting
Technical Overview
You will assess as-found pipe condition (coating, soils/topography, cathodic protection), examine for cracks/corrosion/deformation/manufacturing anomalies, and correlate features to Inline Inspection (ILI) logs. You will conduct fit-for-service evaluations using ASME B31.3 and RSTRENG, set up NDE equipment, and produce pipeline integrity inspection reports.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a PLI Technician with active Magnetic Particle Testing Level 2 and Ultrasonic Thickness Level 2 certifications and hands-on experience performing pipeline integrity assessments. They have strong familiarity with ASME B31.3 fit-for-service evaluations, Inline Inspection (ILI) log correlation, cathodic protection, and the creation of pipeline inspection reports while working independently in remote field conditions.
