This General Mechanic New Hire (Millwright) role focuses on improving mill reliability and reducing unscheduled downtime. The mechanic will monitor rotating equipment, diagnose machine faults, and serve as a subject matter expert for precision practices while supporting onboarding and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze rotating machines and oversee monitoring
- Perform detailed machine diagnosis of common machinery faults
- Serve as an SME for precision practices and QA/QC installation/repair support
- Collaborate on training alignment with Precision Practices
- Support new mechanic hires and maintain required tool stock
Technical Overview
The technical scope centers on rotating process equipment reliability: performing machine analysis, overseeing monitoring, conducting detailed diagnosis of common machinery faults, and supporting QA/QC for installation and repair. Background in turbine and compressor-related rotating equipment is a plus.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a millwright-focused mechanic with at least 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in multi-craft environments. They can analyze rotating machines, diagnose common machinery faults, and proactively report equipment health to reduce unscheduled downtime, with willingness to travel during certification and act as an SME for precision practices and QA/QC.
