Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for Nuclear Services Group, DOE and Commercial Projects
- Develop design studies and calculations
- Review geotechnical site investigations
- PSHA, site amplification/response analysis
- Mentor junior staff
Technical Overview
Remote-compatible senior geotechnical engineering role using PLAXIS, FLAC3D, SASSI, RSPMATCH, and SHAKE; must navigate NRC/EPRI/NEI/ASCE/ASTM standards and DOE-related projects; travel up to 10-20%.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a principal-level geotechnical earthquake engineer with 10+ years in nuclear-related geotech work, holding PE (preferred), and strong experience with PLAXIS, SASSI, and PSHA; able to lead teams and provide technical guidance.
Must-Have Skills
Advanced Degree in Civil Engineering or Geophysics from an ABET accredited universityMinimum 10 years of geotechnical engineering experienceMust have nuclear experienceExperience in geotechnical earthquake engineering design and analysisand ground motion characterization and seismic hazard implementationpreferably for nuclear power plants
