About this role
This role supports Motorola Solutions’ federal government affairs strategy focused on consumer protection and the intersection of privacy and technology. You will manage advocacy efforts with Members of Congress and committee staff, monitor policy developments, and communicate outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute federal advocacy strategies
- Maintain and expand relationships with Senators, Members of Congress, and senior committee staff
- Set up and participate in meetings to educate policymakers on priorities
- Monitor, analyze, and report legislative and regulatory developments
- Prepare meeting readouts and communications for stakeholders
Technical Overview
This is a policy and legislative monitoring role rather than engineering. The work focuses on telecommunications, data privacy, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and drones policy—tracking legislative and regulatory developments and preparing meeting readouts and stakeholder communications.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level Government Affairs Manager with 2+ years of government experience and strong Capitol Hill experience. They can develop and execute federal advocacy strategies while building relationships with Members of Congress and senior committee staff, and they are able to monitor, analyze, and report on legislative and regulatory developments across privacy, AI, cybersecurity, and drones.
