Republic Services is hiring a Heavy Equipment Technician to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy and light service equipment, including diesel and gasoline vehicles. The role includes diagnosing mechanical issues, completing repair documentation, and adhering to safety policies and OSHA requirements.

Technician performs mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, exhaust, brake, suspension, electrical, HVAC, and emission system repairs. Works with equipment condition reports, oil sampling/on-board computer analyses, and fleet management documentation via Dossier, Republic Services Fleet Management Software; includes Tier 4 emission systems knowledge and possible welding/fabrication.

The ideal candidate is a heavy equipment technician with at least 1+ years of hands-on experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment, including preventative maintenance and mechanical diagnostics. They demonstrate advanced knowledge in air brakes, hydraulics, advanced electrical systems (supported by ASE Certification), understand Tier 4 emission systems, and can follow OSHA Haz Com and OSHA Lock Out Tag Out requirements.
