About this role
Cloud Security Engineer role focusing on implementing cloud security controls in AWS GovCloud and integrated cloud platforms, with Zero Trust alignment and federal regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud security controls across AWS GovCloud and integrated cloud platforms
- Support cloud security architecture validation, ensuring alignment with Zero Trust principles and federal mandates
- Implement and manage cloud-native security tools (AWS Shield, GuardDuty, logging) and third-party tools (SIEM, SOAR, EDR)
- Perform continuous monitoring of cloud, network, and endpoint environments to detect and respond to threats in real-time
- Support SOC activities including incident detection, response, and mitigation
Technical Overview
Stack includes AWS GovCloud, SIEM Splunk, GuardDuty, Shield, IAM, PAM, encryption, DLP, and SOAR; emphasis on continuous monitoring, audit readiness, and compliance with NIST RMF/FISMA/FedRAMP.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level cloud security engineer with 3+ years of cloud security experience, hands-on with AWS GovCloud, IAM, and PAM, and strong knowledge of NIST RMF/FISMA/FedRAMP in a HUD/government setting.
