About this role
Industrial Electricians support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting complex electrical and mechanical systems and maintaining production and auxiliary support equipment. The role reports to the Electrical Lead and Electrical Supervisor and works in either the Melt Shop or Roll Mill.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems
- Maintain production and auxiliary support equipment in a craftsman-like manner
- Work individually or as part of a team with maintenance and production personnel
- Function safely in a high stress environment
- Uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards
Technical Overview
Hands-on electrical maintenance in a steel manufacturing facility, including troubleshooting complex electrical and mechanical systems and maintaining equipment. Preferred exposure includes DC overhead cranes, AC and DC motors, Variable Speed Drives, Programmable Logic Controls, and Motor Controls and Distribution Systems.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level industrial electrician with at least 2 years of related experience or formal training, capable of troubleshooting complex electrical and mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment. They prioritize safety, can maintain production and auxiliary support equipment in a craftsman-like manner, and ideally have experience with Variable Speed Drives, Programmable Logic Controls, motor controls, and overhead cranes.
