About this role
Industrial Engineer supports distribution centers by improving how work gets done, including designing layouts, optimizing material flow, and maintaining engineered labor standards in Manhattan LMS. The role requires cross-functional collaboration and travel up to 50%.
Key Responsibilities
- Model capacity, throughput, and staffing to support daily operations, peak planning, and S&OP
- Design and optimize DC layouts, pick/put strategies, and material flow
- Develop standards of work (SOPs), ergonomics improvements, and safety by design
- Lead cost/benefit analyses and capital justifications for process changes and MHE
- Build, validate, and maintain engineered labor standards using time study and methods analysis
Technical Overview
Focus on labor standards, LMS/WMS integration, data analytics (SQL, Power BI/Tableau), and continuous improvement tools (Kaizen, DMAIC) with automation and simulation (FlexSim) as applicable.
Ideal Candidate
An experienced industrial engineer with 1-3 years in distribution, skilled in Manhattan LMS, engineered labor standards, and data analytics to drive productivity across DCs; comfortable with travel up to 50%.
