Position Details
About this role
This role is responsible for the development, design, installation, and maintenance of department networked computers and acting as a systems/network administrator. You will provide Tier 2 user support by troubleshooting PC and network problems and collaborate on integrations with internal IT teams while documenting solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 support for PC/Mac and troubleshoot hardware/software
- Maintain and enhance DOM IT Internal HelpDesk applications and databases
- Collect and maintain annual inventory using SCCM, Casper, REDCap
- Configure and troubleshoot printers/copiers and conference room equipment
- Write documentation and knowledgebase articles and support integrations with HSIS and UAB Central IT
Technical Overview
You will manage technical aspects of a system/network, support end users at the Tier 2 level, and maintain HelpDesk applications and databases. The role includes inventory management across SCCM, Casper, and REDCap, troubleshooting printer/copier and conference room equipment, and writing batch scripts to automate tasks.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level IT support professional with a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting and maintaining end-user computers and department networks. They can deliver Tier 2 support, troubleshoot hardware/software and PC/network issues, maintain accurate inventory, and write simple batch scripts while collaborating closely on system integrations with related IT teams.
