NexGen Technologies is seeking a senior-level Informix Database Administrator to provide operational leadership and technical oversight for mission-critical financial systems. The role ensures IBM Informix database stability, accuracy, and audit readiness across development, test, and production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and administer IBM Informix across dev/test/prod; Monitor health, performance, and capacity; Run backup and recovery, archiving, and data lifecycle management; Tune SQL, PL/SQL, UNIX shell scripts, indexing, and storage structures; Implement and test high availability and disaster recovery while enforcing access controls and auditing
Technical Overview
This DBA role administers IBM Informix installations, monitors performance and capacity, and performs controlled upgrades, patches, and configuration changes. It includes backup and recovery, data lifecycle management, ETL/scripting, SQL/PLSQL and indexing tuning, and implementation/testing of high availability and disaster recovery strategies with strong compliance practices.

The ideal candidate is a senior-level Informix DBA with deep expertise in IBM Informix and strong operational leadership for mission-critical, high-availability production environments. They are hands-on with backup and recovery, upgrades and patching, DDL/DML, and performance tuning using SQL/PLSQL and UNIX shell scripting, while ensuring data integrity and audit readiness for financial systems.
