NexGen Technologies is seeking a senior-level Informix Database Administrator (DBA) to provide operational leadership and technical oversight for mission-critical financial systems. The role focuses on administering IBM Informix environments, ensuring stability, accuracy, audit readiness, and strong performance in high-availability production settings.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and administer IBM Informix in dev/test/prod
Monitor database health, performance, and capacity; implement preventive/corrective actions
Perform maintenance including backup and recovery, data archiving, and data lifecycle management
Plan and implement upgrades, patches, and configuration changes in a controlled manner
Develop and tune SQL/PLSQL and UNIX shell scripts; implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies

Technical Overview

This role administers and tunes IBM Informix databases across development, test, and production. Responsibilities include SQL/PL/SQL development and optimization, DDL/DML schema and data operations, ETL scripting, backup and recovery, high availability and disaster recovery strategy, and executing controlled upgrades/patches.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior Informix Database Administrator with deep hands-on experience administering IBM Informix in complex, high-availability production environments. They can manage database operations end-to-end (install/configure, upgrades/patches, monitoring, backup/recovery, ETL/ETL scripting) while ensuring performance, data integrity, and audit readiness for mission-critical financial systems.
