About this role
United Rentals is hiring an Inside Sales Rep to support branch operations and sales growth by renting and selling equipment. The role handles telemarketing and call-in customers, processes rental quotations/reservations/contracts/invoices, educates customers on safe equipment usage, and maintains accurate inventory and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish understanding of specialty engineered rental products and services (generators, pumps, chillers, HVAC, dehumidification, load banks, electrical distribution)
- Establish new rental and sales accounts via telemarketing and call-in customers
- Process rental quotations, reservations, contracts, and invoices in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Ensure accuracy of contract-related information entered into the branch's computer system
- Coordinate and track daily equipment pickups and returns and maintain accurate inventory records
Technical Overview
The position requires engineering aptitude to size, quote, install, and maintain specialty engineered rental products and services such as diesel generators, pumps, chillers, HVAC, dehumidification, load banks, and electrical distribution. It also requires accurate contract data entry in the branch computer system and coordination of equipment pickups and returns supported by operational reporting.

The ideal candidate is a customer-focused inside sales professional who can increase revenue by renting and selling equipment while managing telemarketing and collections activities. They are comfortable working with MS Office (Word and Excel), communicate effectively, and demonstrate engineering aptitude to size and quote specialty rental projects. They also maintain high accuracy in contract and inventory recordkeeping while coordinating equipment logistics.
