About this role
This role installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains process instruments and electrical systems at the Newton facility. The technician will perform calibration and repair work, interpret technical documentation, and handle rigging and heavy equipment movement as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots and repairs electric, electronic and control circuitry; Performs process instrumentation calibration and repair; Interprets drawings and instruction manuals and performs rigging; Lifts, operates, and positions heavy equipment; Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains process instruments, controls, computers, PLCs and electrical systems
- Performs other tasks as assigned
Technical Overview
The position focuses on electrical and instrumentation maintenance including PLCs, control circuitry, AC/DC motors, breakers (120v 1-phase to 4160v 3-phase), transformers, power supplies, fiber optics, and related plant systems such as HVAC and lighting. Work includes calibration, drawing/manual interpretation, and use of various toolsets and test equipment, plus operating lift trucks and overhead cranes.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced instrument and electrical maintenance technician with 4+ years in a power plant or heavy industrial environment. They are strong in troubleshooting electric, electronic, and control circuitry, performing process instrumentation calibration, and working with PLCs, motors, breakers, transformers, and HVAC equipment.
