Intake Therapist (Outpatient) in a behavioral health hospital, responsible for initial contact with patients and referral sources, clinical assessment, risk assessment, and admission facilitation for ongoing treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Initial contact for patients and referral sources
- Providing clinical assessment and determination of ongoing clinical needs
- Telephonic risk assessment and in-person clinical assessment
- Determines appropriate level of care with DSM-V diagnosis and psychiatry consultation
- Facilitates admission process and provides clinical information for ongoing treatment
Technical Overview
Clinical scope includes determining level of care, DSM-V diagnosis, psychiatry consultation, and preparation of discharge plans; work primarily in outpatient settings with potential IOP/PHP coverage.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a licensed clinical social worker with a master's degree and 2+ years of post-graduate experience in psychiatric treatment, able to perform intake assessments, telephonic and in-person risk evaluations, and determine level of care within an outpatient setting.
