About this role
This role is responsible for substantiating aircraft interior components to comply with structural and cabin safety regulatory requirements. The Engineer Specialist performs detailed stress analysis, conducts static and dynamic testing, reviews drawings for compliance, and supports FAA certification through test and compliance reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed stress analysis using classical hand analysis and finite element analysis
- Conduct dynamic and static testing on interior structures and components
- Coordinate with Interior Design teams for structurally optimal designs
- Review and approve technical design drawings for compliance
- Support FAA certification activities with report writing for test and compliance documentation
Technical Overview
The technical scope includes stress analysis for composite and metal seating systems, interior structures, and fuselage attachments using classical hand analysis and finite element analysis. The position supports dynamic/static testing and may leverage tools like NASTRAN/Femap, LS-Dyna, and Catia V6, with documentation for FAA certification and regulatory compliance reports.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an Engineer Specialist with 7+ years of structural engineering experience focused on aircraft interior components and cabin safety substantiation. They are strong in stress analysis using classical hand methods and finite element analysis, have hands-on experience with static and dynamic testing, and can support FAA certification with clear technical report writing.
