About this role
Computer Operator II / Data Center role supporting a 24/7 data center, monitoring batch jobs, performing cabling and server tasks, and maintaining documentation and data availability within a hybrid work setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily/nightly batch processing schedules to ensure job flows are completed in a timely manner
- Provide backup to the help desk during off hours to ensure customer requests for systems access are met
- Cabling (copper and fiber), cable testing, labeling gear/network cables and updating site cable guide
- Network/server monitoring systems
- Writing and maintaining quality procedures
Technical Overview
Operational data center role focusing on batch processing, network and server monitoring, and physical infrastructure tasks including cabling and rack operations; requires physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an entry-level computer operator with at least 1 year of PC experience in telecom/network environments, willingness to work a 7pm-7am night shift, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds while performing cabling and server tasks.
