About this role
Contract IT Engineer role focused on Payments Applications, supporting engineering of wires payment systems and related integrations. The position is remote and centers on ISO20022 implementation plus Finastra knowledge, including both file-based and API-based connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer wires payment systems
- Build and troubleshoot file-based integrations (SFTP, PGP, batch schedules) and API-based integrations (REST/SOAP)
- Perform SQL Server querying with joins and stored procedures and address performance basics
- Use observability (APM, log search, dashboards) to monitor payment applications
- Support DevOps release automation with Git and CI/CD pipelines
Technical Overview
You’ll work with middleware/API platforms, observability tooling, and scripting/automation to support payment system integrations using SFTP/PGP/batch schedules and REST/SOAP services. The work includes SQL Server development and performance basics, batch scheduling with Control-M, and DevOps practices like Git and CI/CD release automation in Azure/AWS environments.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has ISO20022 experience and strong Finastra knowledge, with 3-5+ years engineering wires payment systems. They can integrate payments using both file-based methods (SFTP/PGP/batch schedules) and API-based approaches (REST/SOAP), with solid SQL Server skills and strong troubleshooting across application and infrastructure in Azure or AWS environments.
