About this role

The IT Project Technician is a client-facing, field-active role focused on discovery, scoping, and executing IT projects. You travel to client sites, document requirements and environments using Autotask and IT Glue, coordinate implementation work, and manage scheduling and verification through go-live.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to client sites for in-person discovery and scoping
  • Produce detailed hardware/environment maps and document requirements
  • Create scoping documentation in Autotask and IT Glue
  • Lead deployments, migrations, upgrades, and configurations with Tier 3/Tier 4 engineers
  • Manage project scheduling in Autotask and perform pre-/post-implementation verification

This role centers on producing detailed hardware/environment maps (servers, network devices, endpoints, peripherals) and leading implementations such as deployments, migrations, upgrades, and configurations. It uses Autotask for scoping documentation and project scheduling and IT Glue for technical documentation, including pre- and post-implementation validation.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an entry-level IT Project Technician who can travel to client sites for discovery and scoping, then translate findings into detailed hardware/environment maps and scoping documentation. They should be comfortable using Autotask and IT Glue for documentation and scheduling, and lead implementations for deployments, migrations, upgrades, and configurations while providing clear client status updates through go-live and handoff.
