About this role
The Sr. Technician Field Service supports the design, installation, maintenance, and documentation of corporate telecommunications infrastructure and services. The role troubleshoots and repairs telecom systems in the field, provides technical support, and leads and directs other technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain telecommunications infrastructure and related equipment and services
- Complete requests for service and determine methodology for installation/removal
- Determine appropriateness of equipment changes and interface with Engineering
- Provide technical support for other team members
- Lead, train, and direct the work of others in the field
Technical Overview
Work focuses on voice/data telecom systems including PBX platforms, Voice over IP, DSX wiring and patching, DSU/CSUs, and fiber optic termination and testing (single and multimode). The technician also supports substation radio alarm equipment and ISDN PR systems while interfacing with Engineering.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior field technician with strong experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining telecommunications infrastructure and voice/data equipment. They are capable of resolving complex technical problems in the field independently and can lead and train other technicians while coordinating with Engineering.
