About this role

Lead enterprise data governance and semantic layer initiatives to deliver a governed, consumable semantic layer across data domains. Partner with business and IT to ensure data quality, lineage, and a single source of truth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define enterprise ontologies and semantic models to unify business concepts across data domains and data products
  • Advise/develop enterprise semantic layer and business logic abstractions for analytics & AI readiness
  • Define/Validate requirements for data elements and populate enterprise data catalog
  • Define quality rules for data within domain and oversee remediation
  • Onboard, coordinate with and support domain teams to ensure application of policies & standards

Technical Overview

Scope includes semantic layer design, data modeling, data governance frameworks, and catalog tooling (Alation, Big Eye); hands-on experience with dbt and Databricks; strong SQL and BI tooling skills; emphasis on metadata management and KPI alignment.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior data governance professional with 12+ years of experience in data management, semantic layer governance, and enterprise data initiatives. They bring strong SQL, dbt, Databricks skills and hands-on experience with data catalog tools (Alation, Big Eye) and metadata management, plus project leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
