About this role
PG&E seeks a Substation Engineering Intern to support substation projects, equipment upgrades, and reliability enhancements. The role provides exposure to design, construction, and operation of critical substation infrastructure and requires collaboration with experienced engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with equipment upgrades and capacity expansions in substations
- Support protection and control improvements
- Update drawings such as single line diagrams, AC & DC schematics, and control room layouts
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Construction, Asset Strategy, and Protection teams
- Ensure safe, on-time, and high-quality design outputs
Technical Overview
Intern will gain hands-on experience with substation drawings, SCADA-related equipment, and protection/control upgrades, including single line diagrams and AC/DC schematics. The role emphasizes safe, high-quality design and cross-team collaboration, with travel up to 10%.
