About this role
Senior Data Science Manager leads a quantitative team in financial crime modeling and analytics; sets priorities, assigns work, and influences data strategy to meet AML/BSA/OFAC needs; communicates with senior partners to drive impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a small quantitative team (2-4 direct reports) in developing models and analytics to address financial crime needs in AML/BSA/OFAC
- Research, compile and evaluate large data sets for model building
- Develop/maintain internal models and test/config vendor solutions
- Employ innovative techniques to improve model effectiveness and efficiency
- Coach and develop the team; partner with compliance, technology, and risk
Technical Overview
Proficiency in SAS and Python; SQL/NoSQL databases; cloud-based and distributed computing; modeling practices and ML/AI methods including GenAI; regulatory and data governance knowledge.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior data science leader with 5+ years in financial crime modeling/analytics, strong SAS/Python, ML/AI and GenAI experience, and proven leadership of a quantitative team; able to translate complex analytics into strategic guidance for executives.
