About this role
Unix/Linux Administrator responsible for technical support and administration of Unix OS and related components to ensure performance, security, and availability. This role involves system installs, monitoring, patching, data protection, and disaster recovery in PCI-compliant environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Installs and configures Unix servers and software
- Performs daily system monitoring
- Maintains Unix infrastructure and patches
- Data protection, backup and DR
- Troubleshoots Unix networking services (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, LDAP, SSH, SMTP, SNMP, SSL, HTTP)
Technical Overview
Hands-on administration across IBM AIX, Red Hat Linux, and Solaris 10; patch management; scripting for automation; extensive monitoring and incident remediation; experience with PCI standards and data center operations.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level Unix/Linux systems administrator with 4+ years of experience across IBM AIX, Redhat Linux, and Solaris environments, strong patching, backup/recovery, and PCI compliance knowledge. The candidate should be proficient in shell scripting and capable of operating in a data center environment to ensure secure, available systems.
