About this role
AWS Infrastructure Services seeks an Installation Technician to travel across regions delivering and servicing hardware in data centers, installing fiber and copper cabling, and ensuring safety and standard procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Moving and implementing large enterprise equipment
- Installing Fiber and Copper cabling and patching cabling between equipment
- Ensuring proper safety and security standards during cabling and rack installation
- Following established hardware installation procedures and break-fix activities
- Travel up to 90% and work across multiple data centers
Technical Overview
Hands-on hardware installation in data centers with copper/fiber cabling, patching, and rack installation; requires testing tools (VFL, power meter, OTDR) and network gear knowledge (switches/routers).
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a field/install technician with 1.5–2 years of data center or critical environment experience, strong network cabling skills (copper and fiber), and CCNA/CCENT/Network+ certifications. They are comfortable traveling up to 90% and working in a fast-paced data-center environment.
