About this role
As an Automation Engineer, you troubleshoot automation equipment and support improvements to production processes through PLC, robotics, and vision system integration. You also participate in project launches, maintain technical documentation, track operational KPIs, and assist with feasibility and quotation inputs for new automation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and maintain electromechanical equipment, automated work cells, vision systems, and multi-axis robotics
- Review and analyze PLC programs for troubleshooting complex systems
- Write robotic programs and design/implement automation solutions including robotic cells, PLCs, and vision systems
- Drive continuous improvement to enhance productivity and reduce downtime
- Maintain technical documentation (electrical and pneumatic schematics, risk assessments, process instructions) and track KPIs (efficiency, internal scrap, external quality cost)
Technical Overview
The role centers on electromechanical equipment, automated work cells, vision systems, and multi-axis robotics, with hands-on troubleshooting using PLC programs. You design and implement automation solutions (robotic cells, PLCs, vision systems), manage technical documentation (electrical and pneumatic schematics, risk assessments, process instructions), and collaborate cross-functionally for launch and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate is an entry-level automation engineer with an engineering bachelor’s degree who can troubleshoot and maintain electromechanical equipment, automated work cells, vision systems, and multi-axis robotics. They can review PLC programs for troubleshooting, develop robotic programs, support automation solution launches, and maintain technical documentation while driving continuous improvement and downtime reduction.
