About this role
Lab Engineer for OISL Rework/Recovery at Amazon Leo; performs hardware rework, failure analysis, and recovery for optical inter-satellite link components; develops SOPs and leads process improvements to increase rework efficiency and yield.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hardware rework operations on OISL components including complex assembly/disassembly, component replacement, and precision alignment procedures
- Execute failure analysis and root cause investigations on non-conforming OISL hardware
- Develop and maintain SOPs for rework operations, recovery processes, and quality control procedures
- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with all safety standards for optical systems and precision hardware
- Track and report on rework metrics including cycle time, yield rates, and defect trends
Technical Overview
Focus on rework of optical hardware and precision assembly in a lab setting; employs optical test equipment, calibration tools, and data tracking to validate functionality and drive continuous improvement.
