About this role
D.R. Horton is seeking a Land Acquisitioner to acquire undeveloped land or finished lots for development. The role coordinates land acquisition leads, conducts title and municipal research, negotiates purchase contracts, and performs financial underwriting and analysis for development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, Secure and Organize Land Acquisition Leads
- Perform Title and municipal research and initial cold call inquiry
- Prepare letters of intent and provide property details to management
- Underwrite and analyze financial aspects of development opportunities
- Negotiate purchase contracts and communicate with city officials
Technical Overview
This role is not software-engineering focused, but it does require proficiency with Microsoft Office and email and frequent documentation/analysis work tied to underwriting and opportunity evaluation. Travel overnight is required.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level Land Acquisitioner with 4–6 years of related experience (or training) and a fifth year college/university program certificate. They are experienced in Title and municipal research, cold-calling for land leads, preparing letters of intent, underwriting development opportunities, and negotiating purchase contracts, with strong MS Office and email proficiency.
