The Lead AI Opportunity Development role helps ensure BJ’s AI initiatives are grounded in real business impact and executed with disciplined prioritization. Reporting to the Director of AI Strategy & Governance, the lead translates operational opportunities into AI initiatives, including use case identification, pilot planning, and success-metric measurement.

Key Responsibilities

Identify high-value AI use cases across business domains
Develop practical business cases for AI initiatives
Structure pilot program objectives and success metrics
Collaborate with product, data, and AI/ML engineering teams to define AI initiatives
Ensure AI investments are aligned with enterprise strategy and governed priorities

Technical Overview

The role focuses on AI initiative design rather than building AI systems, leveraging familiarity with machine learning and generative AI to shape practical AI pilots. It works closely with business leaders, product managers, data teams, and AI/ML engineers to define measurable outcomes and align execution with enterprise strategy.
