About this role
This role leads business intelligence and analytics solution engineering work within AbbVie’s Business Technology Solutions organization. You will design and deliver analytics that stakeholders can use, building dimensional data models, semantic models, dashboards, and governed datasets on Snowflake.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop dimensional data models and data warehouses
- Create semantic models with KPI measures and metric governance
- Build intuitive data visualizations using Power BI and Tableau
- Engineer analytics solutions on Snowflake using SQL and supporting tools (Dataiku/Alteryx/Tableau Data Prep)
- Lead analytics engineering best practices (code review, documentation, data quality, reproducibility) and mentor juniors
Technical Overview
You will implement BI solutions using Advanced SQL and cloud data warehouse technology (Snowflake), building data warehouses with dimensional and semantic modeling. Visualization and data discovery will be done with Power BI and Tableau, while delivery processes include Jira/Confluence, Agile methodology, testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a lead Business Intelligence and Analytics Solution Engineer with deep expertise in data modeling, dimensional modeling, and data warehouse practices. They are highly proficient in Advanced SQL and BI visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau, and have hands-on experience with Snowflake plus governance-focused analytics engineering practices using Jira and Confluence.
