Lead Data Scientist role at City of Hope focused on building and operationalizing clinical decision support tools using predictive analytics and machine learning. This is a fully remote opportunity within the United States, partnering with clinical leaders and IT to deliver real-time, point-of-care decision support and lead a data science team.

Key Responsibilities

Lead clinical decision support data science team and develop robust algorithms
Design and implement machine learning algorithms for predictive models with real time monitoring
Plan, resource, strategize, and manage clinical decision support projects
Move decision support tools into production and manage optimization and maintenance
Produce technical documentation, data visualizations, and scientific outputs (manuscripts, posters, abstracts); mentor team members

Technical Overview

You will lead predictive analytics initiatives for clinical decision support, including design and implementation of machine learning algorithms, evaluation of methodologies and data sources, and real-time model validation and optimization. The role includes moving decision support tools into production and performing ongoing model maintenance, supported by technical documentation, data visualizations, and communication of results through presentations and scientific manuscripts.

The ideal candidate is a lead-level data scientist with experience building predictive analytics and clinical decision support solutions using machine learning. They can lead a clinical data science team, manage and deliver models into production with ongoing optimization, and communicate results to both technical and clinical stakeholders through documentation, visualizations, and scientific publications.
