About this role

Vistra is hiring a Lead Developer (Python, GenAI) to build Python-based services that integrate LLM capabilities into its enterprise data and analytics ecosystem. The role improves ML and modeling platforms, accelerates data product delivery, and partners across teams to deliver secure, governed Generative AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams outside of Technology to implement novel AI solutions
  • Embed Generative AI into workflows for enterprise data products and ML platforms
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Python applications and services with best practices for testing and documentation
  • Provide mentorship and oversight to junior developers and offshore delivery resources
  • Partner with security, risk, and compliance teams to ensure governance, privacy, and ethics standards

Technical Overview

You will design and implement Python applications and services that embed Generative AI into data product and ML platform workflows. The stack includes cloud environments with AWS preferred, plus DevOps workflows using Infrastructure as Code, Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, with governance, privacy, and ethics considerations.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a lead-level software developer with 6-9 years of professional development experience, deeply focused on Python. They have strong hands-on experience integrating Generative AI (including Retrieval-Augmented Generation, embeddings & vector stores, and agentic AI) into enterprise data products and ML platforms, along with DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
