About this role
Boeing is seeking a Lead DevOps Developer to design, implement, and manage infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines across cloud and on-premises environments. The role focuses on Azure infrastructure, automation, observability, cost optimization (FinOps), and security best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Build scalable, secure, observable cloud infrastructure on Azure
- Implement FinOps and Azure Cost Management (budgets, cost alerts, cost allocation, cost analysis)
- Develop IaC modules for deploying Kubernetes, Docker, and related services
- Create CI/CD pipelines for rapid, reliable software releases
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting plus manage Elasticsearch clusters
Technical Overview
You will build scalable, secure, observable Azure infrastructure and create reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules for Kubernetes and Docker. The role includes implementing CI/CD pipelines, automating provisioning/configuration/monitoring, setting up Prometheus/Grafana and other monitoring tools, and managing Elasticsearch clusters. Security requirements include secret management, vulnerability scanning, and compliance adherence.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a lead DevOps engineer with strong Azure infrastructure and CI/CD pipeline experience, plus hands-on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development using Terraform and/or Ansible. They optimize reliability and cost using FinOps practices and Azure Cost Management (budgets, cost alerts, cost allocation, cost analysis), and they build observability stacks with Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Application Insights, and Azure Monitor. They can also manage Elasticsearch clusters and implement security best practices such as secret management and vulnerability scanning.
