About this role
Lead Knowledge Engineer responsible for building and enhancing ontologies, taxonomies, and knowledge graphs. Will lead a team of knowledge engineers and help define semantic vision, roadmap, and next-generation architecture for interconnected data and discovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and enhance ontologies, taxonomies, knowledge graphs, and semantic artefacts
- Lead and manage a team of knowledge engineers
- Provide thought leadership on strategic semantic projects and feasibility
- Execute interconnected data vision via linked metadata schemes and semantic harmonization
- Analyze and implement knowledge organization strategies using metadata and ontology management tools
Technical Overview
Works with semantic web technologies including RDF, RDFS, OWL, and SPARQL to develop knowledge organization strategies and linked metadata schemes. Uses semantic tooling such as VocBench, TopQuadrant, PoolParty, RDFLib, and triple stores for metadata management, ontology management, and semantic enrichment, supporting knowledge graph-driven search and asset discovery.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Lead Knowledge Engineer with 5+ years of experience in taxonomy and ontology development and hands-on semantic web technologies. They have strong knowledge graph and semantic enrichment experience using tools such as VocBench, TopQuadrant, PoolParty, and RDFLib with triple stores. They can lead and manage a team of knowledge engineers while influencing semantic roadmaps and governance initiatives.
