About this role

S&P Global is hiring a Lead Platform Engineer to modernize and operate highly reliable AWS-hosted market platforms. The role is deeply hands-on, with ownership of infrastructure, CI/CD, automation, observability, and incident leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and own scalable, secure AWS platform infrastructure (EC2, IAM, EKS/ECS, S3, VPC, CloudWatch)
Lead Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform (modules, state management, conventions, governance)
Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps
Own container orchestration platforms (Docker, ECS/EKS) including networking, upgrades, resilience, and reliability
Own observability standards (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, Datadog, CloudWatch) including SLIs, SLOs, alert thresholds, and noise reduction

Technical Overview

You will design and own secure platform infrastructure on Amazon Web Services, lead Infrastructure-as-Code practices using Terraform, and manage container orchestration with Docker, ECS, and EKS. You will also own observability standards using Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, Datadog, and CloudWatch, including SLIs, SLOs, and alert threshold/noise reduction strategies.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Lead Platform Engineer who sets technical standards and leads during critical incidents. They have strong AWS and Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform), build CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitHub/GitLab/Jenkins/Azure DevOps, and own observability practices using Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, and Datadog with SLIs and SLOs.
