GE Aerospace seeks a Product Cyber Security Engineer for embedded systems to collaborate with avionics development teams on threat modeling, security architecture/code reviews, and security testing. The role also coaches developers on secure design, development practices, cryptography, and incident response, supporting regulatory certification responses.

  • Drive threat modelling exercises and architecture risk analysis for embedded products
  • Lead security-focused architecture and Security Code Reviews
  • Coordinate cybersecurity test activities to verify cybersecurity requirements
  • Coach and mentor developers on secure design, secure engineering practices, and cryptography (PKI, Code Signing)
  • Validate security improvements and CVE patches and support security incident responses

The engineer will analyze embedded product architectures for vulnerabilities, define threat vectors, qualitatively assess cybersecurity risk, and manage cybersecurity requirements and test activities. Work includes Security Code Reviews, Vulnerability Analysis, cryptography implementation guidance (PKI, Code Signing), and validating security improvements and CVE patches, with emphasis on embedded avionics airworthiness.

The ideal candidate is a security-focused engineer with 3+ years of embedded systems and applications experience, who has led threat modeling, security architecture/code reviews, and security testing for product development. They are comfortable coaching developers and partnering with product managers while handling security incidents and validating fixes through CVE patch analysis, with eligibility for U.S. work and DOD clearance.
