About this role
Lead in a Dollar General store as a cashier and stocker, stepping up in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. Support merchandising standards with plan-o-grams while providing strong customer service and following safety/procedure requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate cash register and flatbed scanner for customer purchases
- Unload trucks, receive cartons/totes, and stock merchandise
- Implement and maintain plan-o-grams and merchandising displays
- Provide exemplary customer service leadership in the absence of leadership
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures manual and Employee Handbook; open/close store under Area Manager direction
Technical Overview
This role focuses on retail operations with checkout and scanning tasks, including operating a cash register and a flatbed scanner for itemizing purchases and making change. It also includes execution/maintenance of plan-o-grams and store opening/closing procedures under the Area Manager’s direction.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a lead retail associate who can function as both a cashier and stocker while providing exemplary customer service. They have experience with plan-o-grams, merchandising tasks (stocking, rotating, facing, displays), and POS/checkout operations including using a flatbed scanner and cash register, plus opening/closing responsibilities when the manager is absent.
