About this role
Auria is hiring a Lead Systems Engineer to support projects for the US Space Force. The role focuses on designing, integrating, testing, and documenting complex space and software systems in a remote environment with a preference for Colorado Springs, CO.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead system design, development, and integration
- Oversee unit, integration, and performance testing and troubleshooting
- Produce and communicate system documentation (architecture, requirements, test plans, user guides)
- Identify risks, define mitigations, and monitor performance metrics
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders for continuous improvement
Technical Overview
You will lead systems design and integration across cloud-native infrastructure, mission-driven C2 applications, data integration/visualization, and AI/ML capabilities. Work includes defining system architectures and diagrams, overseeing unit/integration/performance testing, and applying cybersecurity and zero-trust architecture within DoD space systems.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a lead-level systems engineer with 7+ years supporting DoD/federal programs, including hands-on work across system architecture, integration, and testing (unit, integration, and performance). They also bring TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility, strong documentation skills, and experience building large-scale, complex space systems with cloud-native infrastructure and security (zero-trust) baked in.
