About this role
This role loads and unloads building materials at a yard or work site and assembles load packages into trucks for delivery. The position focuses on proper securing of loads, accurate work order handling, and strict adherence to safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Loads and unloads materials from pallets, trucks, or customer vehicles
- Performs load-building to balance and secure loads based on work orders and vehicle capacity
- Reads work orders and applies/marks identifying labels and tags
- Operates hand truck, electric dolly, forklift, and related devices to move materials
- Observes safety procedures and may recommend changes to improve safety
Technical Overview
Work involves manual and equipment-assisted materials handling, including using a hand truck, electric dolly, and forklift. The role requires understanding load weight/composition/placement and performing basic equipment/tool operations such as steel cutting and using hand tools to open containers.
Ideal Candidate
