About this role
This Mobile Equipment Mechanic role works with production and the Maintenance Team to improve safety, quality, cost, reliability, and productivity. It requires strong safety leadership, willingness to work nights/weekends/holidays, and baseline diesel/automotive training or equivalent experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve SAFETY, quality, cost, reliability, and productivity with the Maintenance Team
- Initiate, lead and uphold safety policies, procedures and housekeeping standards
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures (hydraulics, electrical, powertrain, engines, tier 4 emissions systems)
- Perform mobile equipment maintenance and improvements
- Support reliability through the Maintenance Strategy (Always Safe, Our Responsibility is Reliability)
Technical Overview
The technical focus is diagnosing and troubleshooting mobile equipment systems including machine hydraulics, electrical, powertrain, engines, and tier 4 emissions systems. The role also values welding/fabrication, overhead crane experience, HVAC EPA 609 Certification, and machinery installation/alignment expertise.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Mobile Equipment Mechanic willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and scheduled/unscheduled overtime. They have an associate degree in diesel or automotive technology or at least 2 years of related experience/training and demonstrate strong safety leadership with housekeeping standards. They bring strong troubleshooting for hydraulics, electrical, powertrain, engines, and tier 4 emissions systems, with HVAC EPA 609 Certification and machinery alignment experience as valuable strengths.
