About this role
General Mills is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for the Milwaukee plant to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot industrial processing and packaging equipment. The role also includes welding/fabrication and maintenance of building utilities and electrical systems while working 2nd and 3rd shift schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing industrial processing and packaging machinery, work tools and equipment
- Identifying and troubleshooting mechanical issues
- Providing technical support and plant leadership for equipment troubleshooting and equipment modifications
- Performing welding and fabrication activities
- Repairing and maintaining building utilities and installing electrical systems
Technical Overview
This maintenance position focuses on mechanical troubleshooting and repair of industrial processing and packaging machinery, plus equipment modifications and technical support. It also covers welding/fabrication and utility maintenance including pipe/plumbing and electrical systems, operating within a 24/7 plant environment.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Maintenance Mechanic experienced with installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing industrial processing and packaging machinery. They can troubleshoot mechanical issues, provide technical support for equipment modifications, and perform welding/fabrication and utility plumbing work while working flexible shifts including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
