Maintenance Mechanic role responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance (PM) on plant or mine equipment at the Rock Yard Unit - Uncle Sam location. The role emphasizes safe work practices, hazard analysis, LOTO, and CMMS documentation to support reliable operations.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and diagnose machinery and equipment
Perform preventative maintenance (PM) and daily PM inspections
Repair equipment on planned and emergency break-in basis
Follow PPE, Pre Job Hazard Analysis, Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO) and safe work procedures
Input work requests and feedback into Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

Technical Overview

Performs mechanical maintenance across pumps, fans, turbines, gearboxes, piping, conveyors, and other rotating/large equipment using hand tools, torches, welding equipment, pneumatic/electric tools, and precision measuring instruments. Uses CMMS for work request/work order feedback and follows structured safety procedures including PPE, Pre Job Hazard Analysis, Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO), hot work, and confined space protocols.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a Maintenance Mechanic with 4+ years of industrial mechanical experience, experienced troubleshooting and repairing plant or mine equipment. They are safety-focused and have hands-on skills with PM, Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO), confined space and hot work procedures, and can use CMMS systems for work order input and feedback.
