About this role

Maintenance Tech 1 supports Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom Rack locations by delivering preventive maintenance and handling on-demand maintenance requests. The role performs entry-level troubleshooting and assists with basic repairs under supervision while completing maintenance documentation and following safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and on-demand requests with accurate maintenance records
  • Conduct daily inspections and building rounds
  • Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs (plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, HVAC)
  • Maintain lighting systems (fixtures, replacing bulbs and lamps)
  • Follow safety and health rules including LOTO, PPE, working at heights, and machine guarding

Technical Overview

The technician will execute preventive maintenance, daily inspections, and assist with repairs across plumbing, roofs, drains, HVAC, and lighting. They will also interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and circuit diagrams and follow LOTO, PPE, and working-at-heights safety requirements.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an entry-level Facilities Maintenance Technician I with at least 1 year of related experience or training and strong willingness to learn. They should be detail-oriented and capable of completing preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and repairs across HVAC, plumbing, roofing, drains, and lighting systems while following safety requirements such as LOTO and PPE.
