This role supports Nordstrom stores by performing preventive maintenance, daily inspections, and basic repairs to keep facilities safe and functioning properly. The technician assists with troubleshooting across key building systems and provides quick customer service during urgent situations while following all safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned day-to-day preventive maintenance and on-demand requests
  • Complete appropriate maintenance records accurately and timely
  • Perform assigned daily inspections and building rounds
  • Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs (plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, HVAC)
  • Observe and adhere to safety and health rules (LOTO, PPE, ergonomics, working at heights, machine guarding)

Technical Overview

The work includes hands-on maintenance for plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop areas, and HVAC, plus lighting system upkeep. The technician uses electrical schematics, blueprints, circuit diagrams, and manuals to diagnose and resolve issues, while complying with LOTO, PPE, ergonomics, working at heights, and machine guarding safety standards.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an entry-level Facilities Maintenance Technician with a high school diploma (or GED) and at least one year of related experience or training. They can perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic troubleshooting across building systems such as HVAC and plumbing, while following safety processes including LOTO, PPE, and working-at-heights requirements.
