About this role

Nordstrom seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician I to keep store facilities safe, clean, and well maintained. The technician performs preventive maintenance, inspections, and assists with troubleshooting and basic repairs across systems such as plumbing and HVAC, while responding to on-demand requests and adhering to safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day preventive maintenance and on-demand requests,
  • Complete maintenance records accurately and timely,
  • Perform daily inspections and building rounds,
  • Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs (plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, HVAC),
  • Follow safety and health rules including LOTO, PPE, working at heights, and machine guarding

Technical Overview

This is an entry-level facilities maintenance technical role covering preventive maintenance, daily inspections, and basic troubleshooting for building systems including plumbing, roofs, drains, and HVAC. The technician uses manuals, electrical schematics, blueprints, and circuit diagrams, and supports documentation via a PC or Laptop using a work order system, email, and Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook; Excel).

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an entry-level Facilities Maintenance Technician I with at least one year of related experience and/or training who can support multiple store facilities in the Honolulu, HI area. They should be able to complete preventive maintenance, daily inspections, and basic repairs using manuals, electrical schematics, blueprints, and circuit diagrams, while strictly following safety practices such as LOTO, PPE, working at heights, and machine guarding.
