This job supports Nordstrom’s facilities by performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs to maintain a safe and well-functioning store environment. The technician assists with troubleshooting building systems, responds quickly to emergency situations with proper escalation, and follows safety and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform assigned day-to-day preventive maintenance and on-demand requests
  • Complete appropriate maintenance records accurately and timely
  • Perform assigned daily inspections and building rounds
  • Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs (plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, HVAC)
  • Observe and adhere to safety and health rules (LOTO, PPE, ergonomics, working at heights, machine guarding)

The scope is entry-level building maintenance across plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, and HVAC, plus lighting system maintenance and bulb/lamp replacement. The technician uses manuals, electrical schematics, blueprints, and circuit diagrams to troubleshoot and correct problems while strictly following LOTO, PPE, ergonomics, working at heights, and machine guarding.

The ideal candidate is an entry-level Facilities Maintenance Technician with a high school diploma (or GED) and at least one year of related experience or training. They are detail-oriented, able to follow written and verbal procedures, and can perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic troubleshooting across systems like HVAC and plumbing while adhering to safety standards including LOTO, PPE, and working at heights.
