About this role
This role is for a Maintenance Technician IV focused on complex mechanical and electrical work in a manufacturing environment. The technician troubleshoots PLC's, redesigns PLC and operator panel software, supports electrical energy equipment maintenance, and leads projects to return equipment to safe production operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Trouble shoot PLC's and redesign PLC/operator panel programs
- Maintain, install, and repair electrical energy equipment in manufacturing
- Format hard drives and perform computer setup/PC application installs
- Diagnose electrical issues using blue prints and load requirement computations
- Lead maintenance projects and execute process improvements to restore equipment to production safely
Technical Overview
The technical scope includes troubleshooting PLC's (Programmable Logic Controller) using hand held devices or a laptop, designing and redesigning PLC/program software and operator panels, and formatting hard drives and installing computer setups/PC applications. It also requires diagnostic skills for electrical systems using blue prints and knowledge of serial port communication systems, VFD's (Variable Frequency Drives), process control instrumentation devices such as thermocouples and pressure switches, plus servomotors and drive units.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior maintenance technician with 4+ years industrial maintenance experience and 2+ years industrial electrical experience, including formal PLC training if possible. They can troubleshoot PLC's (Programmable Logic Controller), redesign PLC and operator panel programs, and apply electrical diagnostics using blue prints while leading projects that return equipment safely to production.
