About this role

This role leads standardization and optimization of Westlake's accounting processes, focusing on improving financial systems performance and streamlining workflows. The Manager drives end-to-end improvement projects, collaborates with IT and accounting teams to automate tasks and reporting, supports close activities, and partners with auditors on reviews and integrated audits.

Key Responsibilities

Drive accounting process improvement initiatives and standardization
Collaborate with IT and business unit accounting teams to automate and standardize reporting
Manage projects to implement automation or process improvements
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities
Collaborate with internal and independent auditors on integrated audits and regulatory requirements

Technical Overview

The technical scope centers on controllership process redesign and financial systems output, anchored in compliance requirements (US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, SOX compliance, and internal controls). The role applies process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, manages change, and executes projects through design, rollout, and post-implementation outcome monitoring.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior accounting process improvement professional with 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including Big 4 or Next 6 firm tenure. They have strong technical command of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, SOX compliance, and internal controls, and can lead change management and process optimization using methodologies like Lean Six Sigma.
